In the first video from Simmer Studios, I Hate People! co-authors Jonathan Littman and Marc Hershon talk about the Smiley Face, one of the "Ten Least Wanted" in your office whose job seems to be all about keeping you from doing your job effectively.
If you have a particularly lethal Smiley Face where you work, we'd love to hear about it. Drop your tale into the comments below. If we choose to republish your story here on the front page of the blog, you'll win a free copy of I Hate People!
I have a particular coworker who is a walking ad for passive aggressive behavior. She thinks that just because she says things in a nice, underhanded way that she can do whatever she wants. She walks around gently touching people on their shoulders, back and arms...saying things like "thanks Sweets". The few times she doesn't nicely bully people to get her way, she goes on a rampage and throws temper tantrums to our boss (who hates it).
She had been with the company for over 15 years and she had been getting away with everything. That is until I came through the door over a year and a half ago. Little did she know that I was also schooled in the art of passive aggressive behavior and I would take no prisoners.
She doesn't realize that I am at an advantage...she being in her 60s and me in my 20s. I doubt she studying the moves of great passive aggressive masters from Gossip Girl, Ugly Betty, or Project Runway.
I don't just hate her...she is my nemesis.
Everyday is a new battle, and I am winning this war. Every time we go at it, you can practically hear the rest of the office chanting my name (boss included).
For I am their superwoman...fighting for decent people to work without being constantly run over by a complete bitch.

Ugh, that laugh track makes me want to punch the screen. I don't care if it's ironic, it's still annoying.

To jin: Thanks for your comment! We were trying an experiment by adding the laugh track to the Smiley Face video. Now you'll see that we've added the exact same video, but without the laugh track.
How do you like us now?
